A quick reminder: Acknowledge the characteristics you want ignore the characteristics you don’t. Acknowledgement is a powerful design tool. People will accept acknowledgement and will resist criticism. The fastest way to change behavior is positive reinforcement. Focus on what you want to see in others. Stop correcting.

The Entrepreneurial Revolution
Posted by revenueblitz on September 5, 2008
This was an article that I wrote months ago – but that I feel has great relevance and an underlying message that warrants being repeated…
While many businesses are moving out of Michigan because of the economy, one company is moving into the state because of the economy. Getting Results, a business coaching company, has been working with business owners all over the country to attain levels of success that surpassed their clients’ expectations. Even when the economy tanked after 9/11, their clients were hitting all-time revenue highs.
The owner of Getting Results, Lauren Eichner, is a Michigan native who moved to California at the age of 21 and started the company. Since its inception, she and her partner have not only created their own successful business, they have also coached thousands of entrepreneurs to create thriving businesses nationwide. After hearing all the negative press and seeing the state of the economy in Michigan, she felt it was time to start a new revolution in the state: The Entrepreneurial Revolution.
So much attention is on saving the industrial sector. Ms. Eichner feels there needs to be greater attention on the most rapidly increasing job description on IRS tax returns, “Business Owner.”
More and more people are choosing to be in the driver’s seat of their lives. They are tired of being at the mercy of large companies, not knowing if they will have a job or an income tomorrow.
In the past, many people have chosen job security over the risk of starting their own business only to find that ‘security’ is nothing more than an illusion.
Ms. Eichner cautions not to misunderstand. There is tremendous risk in starting your own business if you try to go it alone. Many new business owners try to ‘save money’ by not hiring the right team or a ‘guide’ to help them. Ms. Eichner questions, “If you were going to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro for the first time, you wouldn’t do it alone, so why would you try to climb the mountain of business ownership by yourself?”
Many people want to own their own business, they just don’t know how. Getting Results sees it as one of their missions to help those who have thought about owning their own business by providing the necessary information for those individuals to be able to evaluate the opportunity. “I have had so many people, friends and family in the area whose jobs have either been eliminated or are threatened to be, ask me how they would go about starting a business. This is why we have started a series called The Entrepreneurial Revolution in which we will have a series of articles to help those budding entrepreneurs. We are committed to helping those who want to be a part of The Entrepreneurial Revolution.”
Currently, we are offering Complimentary talks or speaking engagements for local channels and financial firms as our niche includes financial services.
