Great post and lots of common sense but someimes people start their business from a position of debt and are not able to pay a coach, ensure their financial viability at the onset. This is not the best way perhaps but many have made themselves very successful and achieved amazing results from this stance - Sylvester stallone I believe sold his dog he was so desperate but he followed his dream. Tony Robbins was in a bed-sit totally down, Jonathon Jay used his last £145 and many more have also done the same. Now I am not advocating that people should start a business when they are in an absolute mess financially and have nothing but debt and bills all around them but it can be done and yes, we all need others a guide and support as we build our business but again, some people just do not have this, cannot afford to ask a coach to help them, do not have a circle of associates, family, frends they are very much on their own. One of the top reasons a business fails I believe is lack of believe, confidence and passion for what you are doing. If you have that then the other reasons kick in behond it perhaps because the passion and belief in yourself does have to come before anything else. Then you can start to take massive action, research if you cant afford to apy someone to guide and help you, change the way you are doing things if it is not working, and the rest of the very good common sense approaches that you have written in your blog

At General Electric our strict code is "Spirit & Letter"

Every year we have Integrity training which is our "spirit" and "Letter" is following the rules. (an example is never write an E-mail or Memo that you wouldn't want on the front cover of the new york times.)
